CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik gave a statement at the police station as part of an investigation into allegations of “rigging the election” regarding his party’s Istanbul provincial congress.
Çelik made a statement after the procedures, which lasted about 2 hours, and stated that the allegations that formed the basis of his statement were based on the statements made by a prisoner from prison. Emphasizing that the person in question was an executive candidate on the rival list and that he did not make any accusations during or after the congress, Çelik stated that this person made such allegations in order to get out of prison after his arrest.
The investigation is being carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
