Access to the X accounts of numerous journalists, politicians, and media organizations reporting on and sharing news about attacks by groups affiliated with the Damascus transitional government on northern and eastern Syria has been blocked. The blockages were reportedly carried out on the grounds of “national security and public order.” According to the Freedom of Expression Association’s EngelliWeb platform, the accounts of many media organizations and journalists publishing in Kurdish and Turkish have been made invisible from Turkey. Among the blocked accounts were Mezopotamya Agency, Jinnews, Yeni Yaşam Newspaper, and numerous journalists. No official statement has been made to the public regarding which posts were cited as justification.
