A verdict was reached in the “defamation” case filed against journalist Barış Terkoğlu for his articles targeting İrfan Uçar, the former Chief Prosecutor of Anatolia. The Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court sentenced Terkoğlu to 1 year and 15 days in prison. The sentence was suspended for two years. In his defense, Terkoğlu stated that his articles were part of his journalistic activities and were prepared in the public interest. The court rejected requests to hear witnesses.
