MHP Kırıkkale MP and Member of the TBMM Justice Commission Halil Öztürk submitted a bill to the Parliament to prevent the misuse of artificial intelligence.
In the proposal, it has been made mandatory to remove artificial intelligence content that violates personal rights and threatens public security within 6 hours. Content producers and developers who do not comply will be fined up to 10 million TL and imprisoned. BTK is authorized to impose access restrictions.
Deepfake content must be labeled as “created with artificial intelligence”. In addition, those who give criminal commands to artificial intelligence are considered direct perpetrators and are included in the scope of the Turkish Penal Code.
Öztürk emphasized that the regulation is a “national commitment” for Turkey’s digital security and sovereignty.
