Hasbi Dede, Mayor of Görele District in Giresun, was released on February 9 by the court under judicial supervision as part of an investigation into a message he allegedly shared on social media. Dede’s cell phones were seized as part of the investigation. The prosecutor’s office appealed the judicial control decision and summoned Dede back to court. Dede was referred to court with the prosecutor’s request for detention. It was reported that the judicial process related to the incident is ongoing.
