One of the lawsuits filed against former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş due to his speeches in 2016 has been postponed. During the trial held at Diyarbakır 18th Criminal Court of First Instance, his lawyer Mahsuni Karaman reminded that Demirtaş had been tried for the same speeches before and that the cases should be merged in the appeal decisions. The court decided to wait for the appeal processes of the cases in Ankara and Mersin. The next hearing will be held on January 19, 2026.
