Citizens who participated in protests in Ankara after Ekrem İmamoğlu’s arrest were summoned to testify after 5 months.
Protests were organized in Kızılay and METU in Ankara following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor and CHP’s presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Upon the instruction of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Ankara Provincial Security Directorate summoned citizens to testify on the allegation of “unlawful action”.
The police reported that those who were taken into custody were charged with “violating the Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations” for participating in the protest despite the ban on demonstrations between March 21-25, 2025.
