The investigation conducted by provincial inspectors into irregular worker recruitment at Tunceli Municipality during the 2019-2024 period has been completed. The report stated that TKP Mayor Fatih Mehmet Maçoğlu hired 145 workers without advertising the positions or following official procedures, causing public damage equivalent to 84 percent of the municipality’s revenue. Following a criminal complaint filed with the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Maçoğlu was charged with embezzling 86 million 620 thousand TL. Maçoğlu’s appeal against the decision was rejected by Deputy Mayor Şefik Aygöl. It was reported that İŞKUR imposed an administrative fine of 500 thousand TL on the municipality-affiliated company due to irregular purchases during the same period.
