Justice and Development Party (AKP) Trabzon Provincial Chairmanship candidate Metin Kaya was detained before the congress. Kaya has not withdrawn from candidacy even though he wasn’t a candidate determined by Erdoğan or the General Assembly, and his two attempts for press statement has been prevented by the security forces and the Governorate.
