Access to journalist Umut Eken’s X (Twitter) account has been blocked as part of an illegal betting operation announced by the Turkish Football Federation.
Eken was arrested on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information.” The blocking of his social media account following his arrest has been seen as a new example of restrictions on press and freedom of expression.
