Students in Ankara and Istanbul held protests on April 19 in support of İlayda Zorlu. Police intervened in the protest on Yüksel Street in Ankara and detained nine people; those detained were later released. In Kadıköy, Istanbul, police surrounded the students, detained 79 people, and held the students in custody overnight.
