According to the numbers shared by former journalist and Republican People’s Party (CHP) MP Utku Çakırözer, 36 journalists were prosecuted in January with imprisonment claims for a total of 200 years and five months; four journalists were sentenced to 10 years and seven months of imprisonment in total. 3,100,000 TL compensation in total was claimed for six journalists.
