Three people were detained in the Fethullahist-linked military espionage investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against ASSAN Group; two of them were arrested.
A former colonel and a former Machinery and Chemical Industry employee were arrested, while a former ASSAN employee was released with a travel ban and a signature condition.
Emin Öner, the group’s owner, and Gürcan Okumuş, its general manager, were previously detained on August 27 and arrested on August 31.
The prosecutor’s referral letter underlined that Öner was in contact with 113 different individuals and 22 ByLock users, and that MASAK reports revealed extensive money transfers. It was also alleged that Öner was in direct contact with the organization’s executives Cemil Koca and Hüseyin Saruhan.
