A public case has been filed against 16 young members of the Turkish Workers’ Party who were arrested for protesting the MESEM application and child deaths. The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued an indictment on December 2, 2025, charging the group with “resisting to prevent the performance of duty” and “simple assault” due to incidents that occurred with security guards while they were protesting with banners at the Pullman Hotel during a seminar organized by the Ministry of National Education in Bahçelievler. The prosecutor’s office claimed that the youths resisted security guards, causing injuries and material damage. The youths, however, stated in their defense that they were only there to protest and did not accept the charges.
