The Ministry of National Defense announced on January 13 that a total of 6 billion 592 million TL in administrative fines had been imposed on 117,048 individuals who had failed to fulfill their military service obligations between 2023 and 2025. Responding to a parliamentary question from İYİ Party Adana Deputy Ayyüce Türkeş Taş, Minister Yaşar Güler stated that individuals in default were being sought by law enforcement agencies and that notification messages were being sent to those liable. The Ministry noted that an average of 45,000 individuals had defaulted over the past five years.
