On December 25, police and MIT teams conducted simultaneous operations across Istanbul targeting an ISIS cell allegedly preparing attacks during the New Year and Christmas period, following instructions from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. During raids on 124 addresses, 115 individuals alleged to be linked to ISIS were detained. Weapons, ammunition, and organizational documents were seized during the operations. CHP İzmir Deputy Murat Bakan submitted a parliamentary question to the Ministry of Interior following the operations.
