Journalist Ahmet Kanbal was sentenced to 1 year and three months in prison on the charge of “targeting those taking part in the fight against terrorism” following the complaint of Gendarmerie Deputy Commander-In-Chief Lieutenant Musa Çitil due to sharing a news story about him on social media. Within the scope of the case at the Aydın 3rd Assize Court, the journalist was prosecuted for sharing a section of an interview with Human Rights Association (IHD) Co-Chair Eren Keskin about Musa Çitil.
