Journalist Murat Ağırel, who was under house arrest, and Aylin Kotil, Ömer Sarıgül, Volkan Aslanbaş and Cavidan Tanrah Artuner were detained in the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutors launched the investigation upon complaints by two people identified as German citizen K.P. and M.B. The complainants alleged that an €80 million contract had been drawn up, a €100 million transfer had been made, a yacht had been sold for €1.5 million, and it had been promised that a €1 billion fund would be moved abroad through loans by using public power and influence. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office decided to send the allegations concerning former MP Mustafa Sarıgül to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office for separate consideration. Journalist İsmail Saymaz reported that a detention order had also been issued for Emir Sarıgül and said Mustafa Sarıgül’s son would surrender to police.
