The trial of CHP Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on allegations of “praising members of FETÖ and the PKK” over some social media posts and speeches he made between 2016 and 2019 was held at Ankara 11th High Criminal Court. Kılıçdaroğlu’s lawyer requested acquittal and asked for the case to be merged with another case. The court rejected the merger request and ordered Kılıçdaroğlu to be present at the hearing on 19 November. The court ruled that if he failed to attend, he could be forcibly brought to court or an arrest warrant could be issued for the purpose of taking his statement.
