The Istanbul Bar Association released its report on rights violations it said occurred during the “Ailem Güvende” operations and protests between 12 and 16 September. The report said access was blocked to the websites of 11 LGBTİ+ associations, 32 X accounts and a total of 419 social media accounts. The bar association said people detained at the protest outside Çağlayan Courthouse were handcuffed behind their backs, some were beaten, lawyers were prevented from meeting their clients for hours, and detainees’ food, medication and hygiene needs were not met. It also stated that despite confidentiality orders on the investigation files, contents of the files appeared in the press.
