The mayorship of Adalar Municipality passed to the AKP. Yeni Parti Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik said that in the 2024 elections his party had won 10 council seats, including the mayor, while the AKP had won two. Çelik claimed that five council members had been arrested and that some members had been suspended from office or changed parties. He also alleged that some council members faced threats of arrest and demolition of their workplaces, and argued that the election result had been altered through pressure and transfers of council members.
