Bağımsız Maden-İş General President Gökay Çakır and Organizing Specialist Başaran Aksu were released under judicial control after being detained during protests by Doruk Madencilik and Eti Gümüş workers outside the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Prosecutors requested house arrest for the two unionists on a charge of violating Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations. The criminal judgeship of peace rejected the house arrest request and imposed judicial control measures on both unionists. The miners said they would continue their protest outside the ministry until all wages and other labor receivables were paid.
