The Istanbul Anadolu 59th Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced artist Müjdat Gezen to 3 months and 22 days in prison for “publicly denigrating a segment of the population” over remarks he made on a YouTube programme. The court decided to defer the announcement of the verdict and placed Gezen under a five-year probation period.
