On June 15, police once again intervened in protests in Ankara organized by the Platform of Teachers Affected by Job Interviews and the Private Sector Teachers’ Union. Union leaders were detained during the intervention. The teachers announced that they would begin a hunger strike to demand that their demands regarding base salaries and working conditions be met.
