In an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office targeting the Beşiktaş Municipality, police detained five people on May 19. The prosecutor’s office issued the detention orders on charges of accepting bribes and money laundering. As part of the operation, police conducted searches at addresses where municipal officials and council members were located and seized digital materials.
