Three land registry officials detained on allegations of improperly accessing land registry records at the behest of Justice Minister Akın Gürlek were arrested on March 25, 2026. The suspects, who were stationed in Afyonkarahisar, Çorum, and Antalya, were referred to court on charges of “unlawfully obtaining personal data” and “abuse of office.” Taking into account the current state of evidence and the nature of the crime, the court decided to detain the three individuals. The General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre also suspended the suspects from their duties.
