At an EIA meeting held in the Fatsa district of Ordu for a bentonite mining project, company representatives confronted local residents. A dispute broke out between citizens opposing the project and ORBEL’s subcontractors. Following the altercation, some individuals were escorted out by security forces. Previously, a court had overturned a decision stating that an EIA was “not required” for the same project.
