The Silivri District Governor’s Office has banned any protests or activities around the Marmara Correctional Institution between March 1 and 31, 2026, ahead of Ekrem İmamoğlu’s trial for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality case. The governor’s office stated in its decision that security measures would be taken at the prison complex and its surroundings, traffic controls would be implemented in the area, and drone recordings would be made. The court announced that İmamoğlu’s trial will be held in Silivri on March 9.
