The court sentenced Ömer Aras, Chairman of the TÜSİAD High Advisory Council, and Orhan Turan, former Chairman of the TÜSİAD Board of Directors, to 1 year, 3 months, and 18 days in prison each for the crime of “publicly disseminating misleading information to the public.” The court postponed the announcement of the verdict, and the prison sentences were not enforced against the two individuals. Aras and Turan were acquitted of the charge of “attempting to influence a fair trial.”
