The Media and Law Studies Association (MLSA) has filed a petition with the Constitutional Court regarding journalist Ömer Sönmez’s exposure to police intervention while covering news at Çağlayan Courthouse in 2024. The petition alleges violations of the prohibition of ill-treatment and the freedoms of expression and the press.
