Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and Deputy Mayor Süleyman Can, who were arrested in the “embezzlement” investigation, were transferred to Ankara Sincan Prison on March 3, 2026. Özcan’s lawyer, Uğur Poyraz, said that sending his client to a prison in another province instead of Bolu was a blow to his right to defense.
