A case has been filed against four young people who protested commercial relations with Israel at the TRT World Forum 2024 event held at the Istanbul Congress Center and claimed they were subjected to strip searches and ill-treatment during their detention. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against the young people on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information.” The Istanbul 50th Criminal Court of First Instance accepted the indictment. The first hearing is scheduled for September 16, 2026. In the same complaint filed for the same statements, the prosecutor’s office decided not to pursue charges against ANKA News Agency and two news websites.
