On February 24, 2026, teams from the Istanbul Police Department’s Counterterrorism and Intelligence Branch conducted an operation against ISIS under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Police teams raided pre-determined addresses and detained 11 individuals alleged to have carried out activities linked to the organization and spread propaganda on social media. The suspects were taken to the Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate for questioning.
