CHP members wanted to march to the TRT Ulus building to demand that the trials concerning Ekrem İmamoğlu be broadcast live on TRT, but they were stopped by a police barricade. İstanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik reminded them that TRT is financed by public funds and must therefore broadcast impartially. Çelik reacted to the obstruction, saying, “It’s as if there is an undeclared state of emergency in the country.” The group, which included MPs and party members, continued their statements even though they were not granted permission to march. CHP Istanbul MP Ali Gökçek said, “They can block the roads leading to TRT, but they cannot block the CHP’s path to power.”
