Anadolu University students wanted to make a statement in front of the Central Cafeteria to expose attacks by the Special Security Unit (ÖGB) and demand the removal of the cafeteria reservation system. Before the action began, a heavy police and security presence on campus drew attention. While the students were making their call, the security unit attacked on the orders of the ÖGB commander and forcibly removed the students from the campus. During the intervention, students who were filming were asked for their press cards; the phone of a student without a press card was forcibly taken and the images were deleted. The students, who were beaten and forced out, made a statement in front of the Pharmacy gate, reacting to the conditions of poverty and poor management practices. The statement said, “We will come together every day until our demands are met, and we will escalate the struggle. You will stop managing our university like a company.”
