In a statement released from prison, TİP MP Can Atalay reminded the Constitutional Court’s ruling on the violation of his rights two years ago and addressed the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş. “The registration of MP Can Atalay in the Parliamentary Registry is waiting for the signature of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey,” Atalay said. Despite the Constitutional Court’s decision dated October 25, 2023, Atalay has still not been released. The 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation did not implement the verdict, after which the Parliament dismissed his deputy on January 30, 2024.
