Sözcü reporter Evren Demirdaş was attacked by three unidentified people outside the Elazığ Municipality council meeting. Demirdaş, whose nose was broken, went to the police station after receiving a medical report and filed a complaint. CHP City Councilor Doruk Gök said the attackers were underage. Demirdaş was known for his news on corruption in municipalities. Most recently, he had brought to the agenda the drug images of AKP Elazığ Provincial Chairman Şerafettin Yıldırım’s son. Yıldırım resigned after the incident. Demirdaş is known to have received threats before.
