Within the scope of the FETÖ investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, a simultaneous operation was organized in 14 cities centered in Istanbul. A total of 16 people, including 11 active police personnel, were detained in the operation.
During the investigation, it was determined that the suspects were in contact with the organization’s police structure while studying at the Police Academy and police schools between 2012 and 2014. Confessor statements, data obtained from secret witnesses, consecutive call records and Bank Asya accounts were included in the file as evidence.
Of the 18 people with arrest warrants, 2 were found to be abroad. Among those detained are 4 police chiefs, 11 active and 3 dismissed police personnel.
