Ankara 21st Administrative Court issued a stay of execution in the lawsuit filed against RTÜK’s 10-day broadcasting suspension imposed on Halk TV.
RTÜK had deemed Prof. Dr. Tolga Yarman’s expression “Sunnocratic Neo-Ottomanism” in the program “Uncensored” as “inciting the public to hatred and hostility”. The court asked RTÜK for the basis of the penalty and the minutes of the board and gave the organization 30 days to submit the documents. Halk TV will be able to continue broadcasting during this period.
