Emine Şenyaşar was detained due to insulting a public officer. Şenyaşar has been performing a sit-in protest for seven days in front of Şanlıurfa Courthouse and she had previously been detained together with her son due to the sit-in protest she performed in front of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Urfa Provincial Organisation building with a claim of “justice.”
Emine Şenyaşar had lost her husband and two sons in the armed attack in Suruç on June 14, 2018 made by the guards and relatives of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Urfa Parliament member İbrajim Halil Yıldız. The family is concerned that the prosecution will conclude with impunity.
