Flash TV, one of the first private TV channels of Turkey, decided for a two-month pause on broadcasts. The statement made by the channel, entitled, “Our crime is objectivity…” stated that “the applications of the governmental power knowing no law; the administrative, political and financial pressure reached an unbearable level.” The broadcast of Flash TV was previously cut due to the channel’s lack of payment to Türksat in recent months. The channel already slotted a majority of the broadcasts to entertainment shows; following the broadcast cut, it announced that news programmes will no longer be broadcasted.
