The video, shared on Twitter on July 31, 2019, depicting children shouting “Death to Jews” was carried to the Parliament by the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) MP Garo Paylan. Paylan indicated that the video is both a hate crime, and is child abuse. In the motion he tabled for Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu to answer, Paylan asked whether an investigation will be opened for the neglect to be penalised or not and whether measures will be taken to prevent hate speech, hate crime and child abuse.
Speaking on the video, Shalom Daily Editor-In-Chief Ivo Molinas stated, “There is a lot of antisemitism in the visual and written media in Turkey as well as in the social media. But this video is a whole other example of antisemitism. Little minds are injected with hatred against Jews, against humans, without them even knowing what Judaism is… This video is the highest and heaviest version of antisemitism.”
