Turkish Journalists’ Union (TGS) organized protests in front of courthouses in Istanbul and Ankara for recently arrested journalists, saying, “Journalism is not a crime.” In the statements made, it was indicated that 28 journalists were detained and 8 of them were arrested within the last 15 days. “The journalists are being targeted due to the developments in the international policies, as well as declared criminal or even traitors even though they do nothing other than reporting news for public information,” the union stated.
