  • The indictment against Turkish Medical Association President Sebnem Korur Fincanci has been prepared with the accusation of “terrorist organization propaganda”. Fincanci is being charged with up to 7 years and 6 months prison sentence.  
  • The first case of Journalist Ferhat Celik and Idris Yayla who stand trial because of a news article published in the Mezopotamia Agency has been held.
  • The trial of 46 students and 3 journalists who were detained in Ankara during a protest about the student’s accommodation problem has begun.
  • The prosecution of Journalist Oktay Candemir who stands trial because of a tweet he shared criticizing Van Governor has begun. 
  • Halkevleri representative Rüya Kurtuluş was sentenced to 1 year in prison for insulting President Erdoğan because of her speech in a protest against Canal İstanbul Project.
  • Conscientious objectors Seyda Can Yilmaz and Cemal Karakus have been convicted, because they refused to join the Turkish army.
  • A lawsuit is filed against Lawyer Aryen Turan who touched on the issue of chemical weapon use allegations in her speech in İzmir Bar Association General Assembly.
  • A new file against Musician Yılmaz Çelik who prosecuted and acquitted with the charge of “terrorist organization membership and propaganda” begun after a new verdict is announced by appeal court. 
  • Journalist Çağrı Sarı and Arif Koşar who have been prosecuted for over 6 years because of a news article published in Evrensel Newspaper acquitted.
  • The police attacked the protests held in İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Diyarbakır, Van, Adana and Tunceli against Turkish military airstrikes in syria and ıraq. 52 people in İstanbul, 47 in Diyarbakır and 9 people in Ankara were detained
  • Immediately after air strikes in Syria and Iraq, all kinds of public gatherings and protests has been banned by governorates in 11 cities.
  • The supreme court overturned the imprisonment sentences given to rights advocates in “Büyükada Trial”
  • According to Ministry of Interior data, 19 concerts and festivals were banned this year for reasons such as “public safety and public opposition”.
  • 19 people were detained in the briefing held in İstanbul to commemorate the victims of Suruç Massacre.
  • Rewşan Çeliker’s concert in İstanbul was banned by district governorship. 
  • A lawsuit has been filed against Journalist Mehmet Selçuk Ada because of a tweet he posted.
  • Director Murat Yüksel was fined money, because he screened a documentary in a village cafeteria about workers who catch a lung disease called silicosis.
  • Disney removed a new animation movie“Strange World” from display in Turkey because of a “censorship potential”.
  • News about torture and rape in Adana Pozantı Juvenile Prison were blocked after the appeal of the second president of the prison at the period, because the news were regarded as “no longer containing public interest”.
  • There have been additional access blocks about President Erdoğan’s former lawyer Mustafa Doğan İnal.  5 different courts ordered 9 different sentences, and the number of blocked articles reached hundreds.
