Sebahat Tuncel, the imprisoned former Co-Chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), who was sentenced to 11 months and 20 days in prison for “insulting the President” for saying “Erdoğan is an enemy of women and Kurds” in the protest against trustee operations on Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) municipalities in 2016. The case, in which she was tried again at the Diyarbakır 10th Criminal Court of First Instance after the reversal decree of the court of appeal, resulted in acquittal.
