Thirteen workers dismissed after a trustee was appointed to Dersim Municipality were not reinstated despite court rulings ordering their return to work. The municipal administration dismissed nine workers on 31 December 2024 and four on 24 March 2025. A local court ordered reinstatement in cases filed by the workers. Erzurum Regional Court of Justice 6th Civil Chamber rejected the municipality’s appeal and upheld the ruling. However, the trustee administration did not reinstate the workers. Zeynep Kılıç, a bağlama instructor in the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs, said they wanted the court ruling implemented and to return to work. Municipal employee Ali Mükan said they had been unemployed for a long time and were experiencing financial hardship. Theater instructor Yılmazcan Şare also emphasized that the trustee administration should comply with the judicial ruling. The workers announced that they would resume a sit-in outside the municipality because the reinstatement rulings had not been implemented.
