Cizre Co-Mayor Mehmet Zırığ was dismissed due to a lawsuit filed as well as an investigation opened against him related to his social media posts. Zırığ was replaced with the district governorate as trustee. Thus, the number of trustees assigned to People’s Democratic Party (HDP) municipalities increased to 13; 3 of which are metropolitan municipalities.
