Media and Legal Studies Association (MLSA) Co-Director lawyer Veysel Ok was granted the
Thomas Dehler Medal, given on behalf of the first Minister of Justice of Federal German Republic, due to “his efforts on freedom of expression and the supremacy of law.” The award will be given to Ok with a ceremony to be organized on April 5th in Munich, Germany.
Media and Legal Studies Association (MLSA) Founder and Co-Director Ok undertakes legal representation of many journalists in Turkey, especially Deniz Yücel. Ok defends 11 arrested journalists, including Nedim Türfent, Ziya Ataman, Salih Turan, İdris Sayılgan, İdris Yılmaz; as well as many more journalists and academics in ongoing lawsuits.
