A lawsuit was filed against arrested former MP and Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair Leyla Güven for her speech at an event in Silopi district of Şırnak in 2020. The indictment accepted by Silopi 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance was accepted on 11 September 2023. In the indictment, Güven was charged with “inciting the public to hatred and hostility” for her expressions “AKP-MHP will be held accountable” and “We will resist to hold them accountable”. The first hearing of the case will be held on 31 October.
