At Menemen Haldun Koşay Anatolian High School, 6 students were detained after a video of a Kurdish halay in the classroom was targeted; five were released while the student who shared the video was arrested. DEM Party MP Yılmaz Hun submitted a parliamentary question to the Minister of Interior, asking for the legal basis of the procedures and the evidence for the arrest. Lawyer Zeynep Sedef Özdoğan demanded the release of Asmin Yıldız, the valedictorian of the school, from Aliağa Şakran Women’s Prison, stating that the arrest was made despite the removal of the video after the lynching on social media.
